Hi, I am Christine, a 35 year old woman living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I moved here from Portland, Oregon July 2005. I have since worked at the Apple Store, a yoga studio, Lululemon, and DeepRoot.

I am pregnant with my first child. My due date is August 5th. On April 28th I was hospitalized for 3 days due to pre-term labor where the doctors were able to stabalize me but I have been prescribed strict bed rest with medication to calm uterine contractions until the baby is born. I have to follow these orders closely because I keep coming close to going into pre-term labor every 1-2 days. But so far so good.

MaternityShare goals:

One of the ways in which I have chosen to spend my time is blogging. Some of the goals of MaternityShare are sharing the following:

• my pregnancy with community
• knowledge gained
• conversation with readers of MaternityShare and with other bloggers

I aim to do this with transparency and fostering community.

Interests:

Some of my interests are yoga, dance, healing, food, business, entreprenuership, green and sustainable practices and products, art, photography, music, etc., etc., etc.

Livelihood:

Before bed rest I worked full-time in the Operations Department at DeepRoot, a manufacturer of urban landscaping products. Now, I am waiting to be approved for disability leave to receive 55% of my regular salary.

There are ideas on income in the works… stay tuned to hear the developments of a children’s clothing website where you can get clothes and other items for free.
