Mmm SFNB

I love Sunflower Nut Butter. I get it at Trader Joes. It has evaporated cane juice in it so its extra yummy.

Art my housemate in the triangle likes it too. It took me less than a day to raid his jar. He didn’t have much left so I felt kinda bad. I fessed up and told him I would get him another jar and I got myself one too. I hadn’t had it in quite some time… probably since I was pregnant. Its a luxury. And I feel kind of bad that it had sugar added to it (I try to limit my sugar intake). Art told me that it was a good sugar when I told him he was evil for re-addicting me. He also said that the whole deal was good for me. Ok. I feel better. Thanks Art.

The other day Art told me to have the sunflower nut butter (SFNB) on his challah bread and that it was yummilicous. I raided his bread but used my SFNB this time. Yup, it was good.

I shared with him my secret recipe of bread, SFNB and cheese. I think he said “hm”. A few days later Art caught me in the kitchen with my SFNB with yogurt on bread. PB&Y he called it. I then told him of the master piece I made the day before: bread, SFNB, egg (over-medium) and, yogurt. Mmm.

Still Living Outside the Loft

February is nearing its close and we are still not living in our home. We are on our 4th sublet, living with roommates, and were about to have to find a 5th because we found out our place will not be ready until March 5th. That is the construction manager’s estimate… and, that was before he heard our carpet is slowly making its way from Georgia via Canada. Ok.

We are currently staying a funky “house” that used to be a railroad station. It is shaped like a triangle. You can see it in this satellite google maps view. There are 2 units and we live upstairs with a housemate: Art. Art was a kind and brave soul to take us in. This place is so small it doesn’t have a living room or even a full kitchen.

The best thing about this place, other than it being safe and warm enough (with our space heater), is Art. As with the other sublets I am thankful to have met such awesome folks which is one of the best silver linings in this whole fiasco.

Our sublet here ends on Feb 28th. But I finally got a hold of the reportedly absentee landlady and offered her $25 a night to let us stay after our housemate leaves. She said yes. Phew.

My Mom of Cozy Hats & More sent us a warm love-filled box of handmade gifts!

Will’s gifts were a cute pair of blue and green knit socks and a smashing brown and cream knit hat! (I will post Billy and my gifts later. I need to take pics!)

February 14th was also Will’s 7 month bday!

Will is 7 Months Old Today

Happy Valentine’s Day and, Happy Birthday Will… Will is 7 months old today.

Will’s first tooth popped out of his gums today on the lower right with the lower left soon to follow. I had noticed a few days ago that his gums were looking a little whiter in that area and suspected that we would see teeth soon. Oh, I feel them too… while he feeds! Oooch!

He is developing his personality more and more. His vocal chords are getting more developed too or, he his getting more control of them. His sounds are so cute.

I heart Will!

I heart Billy too. He made us breakfast in bed. Then we went on a marathon shopping trip at Bay Street Mall. We shopped some bargains and got some things we were needing. Happy Valentine’s day to us!

One of our finds today was a p.j. set for Will. It is a Spaced Invaders type of theme. They were only $1.99 triple 50% off or something like that. Score!

We also got a package in the mail from my mom. She made all three of us knitted socks! Wow! Those take a lot of time. We love them, they fit perfectly and we need them with this cold weather we have been having. And the place we are staying in currently is COLD! We have a space heater going nearly all the time.

Speaking of the space heater. It is loud and seems to help Will sleep for longer periods of time. They say that a fan or white noise is good for that.

Also we bought him a play yard that doubles as a temporary bed. He has been sleeping in that for the most part ever since we moved into our current sub-let. This probably helps him sleep longer too because he is further away from the smell of the “milk machine” (me).

It has been a while since I have posted because I haven’t had the heart to re-cap what has been going on since we were displaced out of our home. It has been a hard road but it looks like the end is in sight. We are hoping to move back by the end of February. All I’m saying is it better be ready because I am not moving to a 5th time unless it is back home. The sub-let we are in now ends at the end of February.
